Paving the way for a triumphant end to the season, the Warren High School Bowling teams secured a win during their recent match.

“This year was great,” Mark Valdez, Bowling Team coach, said. “Both the boys and the girls dominated in their districts.”

The two teams earned excellent scores of 17-0 this season, placing first in their districts.

“The girls especially, the girls were outstanding,” Valdez said. “A lot of them have been together since freshman year, no seniors, so we’ll be bowling again for next year.”

The girls’ team, which won regionals and concluded in 5th place in state last year, are yearning for another state win.

“This is my first official tournament with the school,” Ahmed Alshuala, member of the Boys’ Varsity Bowling Team, said. “I feel proud of myself that I actually went all the way.”

In addition to the teams’ goals of winning at next week’s district-wide Baker Showdown, the top three boys and four girls will be making their way to individual regional competitions.

“We’re looking forward to another great finish,” Valdez said. “And a good start for next year.”
